Artist Statement My goal is to create a vibrancy in my paintings that is not seen in everyday life. In general, objects can be very dull. By painting everyday objects I aim to instill a new life into them and allow the viewer to see them from a different perspective. If I can do that, I have been successful. Why pastels? I chose soft pastels for my works as it is a medium that is pure, vibrant and can be laid down quickly to bring a painting to life. That being said, these paintings can take up to two weeks to complete. The blog area of my site documents my "Painting a Week", my "work in progress" on various paintings and all current news regarding shows, awards and new paintings.
