“Luscious” Accepted in Red & Gold Exhibition

I am proud to announce that my painting, "Luscious", was accepted in the Red & Gold Exhibition with the Federation of Canadian Artists and will be displayed in their Granville Island gallery between January 29 – February 10, 2008.

Candy Apple Series

I previously talked about painting a candy apple at the upcoming Dianna Ponting workshop I will be taking in October. I did some more photography of the subject and will be doing a series once I get started. The first of the series will be one of these photographs.

Apples

Two sketches of apples. The first one I focused more on the apple and it shows. Although the background colour compliments the apple well, it is unfinished and lacking definition.
The second sketch I started with the background, knowing that if I didn’t I would focus on the apples too much. There is a sense of harmony between the background and the apples, however there is lack of definition in the apples.
