Post Ponting Workshop :: Two studies

Posted on November 2, 2008

After Dianna’s workshop painting I had time left over to complete two other works. This first one is of two posts in a field with lavender in front. I started with a complimentart watercolour underpainting to help bring out the pastels colours.

The last one is of two apple pears Dianna rescued from being eaten by a dear on her acerage.

Both were very enjoyable to do and very satisying to complete.

Pastels in the Mail

Unison Header

I had a nice surprise this week. My order of Unison Pastels came in the mail. Always a good day when a package arrives. The sticks are soft and silky but do not melt like butter like a Schminke. The colours are brilliant and vibrant, apply well and smudge nicely. I look forward to completing a painting with them.
